Who is the Man's Man? He's the real class act. He always shaves and wears clothes that fit. He's worldly, educated, and a gentleman. He thinks that buttoned shirts are not just for special occasions and that newspapers have more than one section. While he is polite, he is not a pushover. He will swear when he needs to, but will try to control his temper. He can handle his liquor and keeps himself in shape. Most importantly, he will admit his faults and errors, because that is what real men do. The don't have to be gay or straight, black or white, political or not, Athiest or Evangelical; he just does what ever he thinks makes himself a good person that he can be proud of. For these reasons, women want him and men want to be him. Cary Grant, Gregory Peck, Denzel Washington are all examples of a Man's Man.

Products for Men The Perfect Shave Now is time to take a close look at the way you shave. Does this picture look familiar? I believe a good shave is not hard to achieve for anyone. No matter what you’ve learnt, or how stubborn your beard. Our technique will be a vast improvement. Chances are you were taught to shave by your father, and don’t really do things much differently now. Well? times have changed and there are plenty of new products out there for you to try. It only gets better from here! The Blade You need a sharp clean blade. Keep the blade hot, and rinsed. Hot steel cuts better. When using a new blade, take extra time to prepare and go slow. The new blade is far more likely to cut you. A blade used once or twice is going to give the best shave. You can tell a blade needs changing when it drags or pulls. You are more likely to suffer shaving rash and ingrown hairs with a blunt blade. Check out our range for the latest technology Preparation Shave after or during a shower. The heat and steam softens the skin and the beard, allowing for a closer shave with less pulling of the hair and less irritation to the skin. Wet your face thoroughly, and avoid soap. Soap will dry the skin, making your face taught. Tight skin means rigid pores and less flexibility of the hair follicles. This does not generally allow for a good shave. Exfoliate Start by a thorough cleaning of the area to be shaved. Use a facial wash or exfoliating scrub. You can use the scrub on alternate days if you wish. You need to ensure your face is free from dead skin, and oily residues to reduce the chance of infection. This process also draws the hair away from the skin. Massaging the area with the cleanser stimulates the hair follicle, (just the way you can brush your hair up and away from the scalp, or down flat). Massage against the grain as much as possible. Pre Shave Apply a pre-shave oil for stubborn beards and/or stubborn areas. A pre-shave oil lubricates the hair and provides a film across the skin. The film further reduces the drying of your face. Most oils need a few moments to do their job. Give them around a minute to work. You may want to splash on a few drops of water and massage again. For light beards, you can shave with just the oil. For normal to heavy beards, we suggest a further shaving preparation, such as a cream or gel. Lubricate Apply the shave gel to your face, gently massaging into the skin. Use the palm of your hand for flat areas, and your finger tips for small sections, and areas that suffer from ingrown hairs and razor bumps. We assume you hold the blade with your right hand (Left handers: just swap sides left for right etc.) Leave the finger tips and hand of your left hand covered with the shaving preparation. Holding the blade with your right hand, begin to shave. After each pass of the blade, feel the skin with your left hand. You will feel any areas that need another pass of the blade, and re-apply the shaving preparation at the same time. Rinse the blade often. This means you can shave most areas with one pass of the blade reducing the after effects of shaving. Stubborn areas only will receive extra shaving, and will also receive more lubrication. Start at the top Start around the ears and cheeks. These areas are the easiest to shave. The shaving preparations have longer to work on the rest of your face. Move onto the moustache area under your nose. Now is a good time to check that those sections already shaved are smooth enough. Use the fingers of your other hand to feel as you go. Now move to the neckline. Most people’s hair grows up from the collar. Shave up and out towards your ears. When you feel pulling, the grain has changed direction. Now move to the jaw and upper neck area, shaving down to the collar. Try not to pass over the area already shaved below. Now do the chin and areas not already shaved. Check for Smoothness Quickly run the fingers of your left hand over the entire face. Shave over any spots missed, frequently rinsing the blade under hot water, and reapplying shaving preparation with other hand. Now a thorough rinse with hot water is required. If you have any oil residue that’s hard to shift, try a very small amount of cleanser (not soap!) to assist. Once the skin is free of all shaving residue, switch to a cool water rinse. This helps by cooling the skin and closing the pores. Dry the face Pat the skin dry with a clean towel. Don’t rub hard as you will irritate the skin. A dirty towel will leave traces of dirt and may lead to infection. Moisturize Once dry apply a small amount of moisturizer to the shaved area and the rest of your face. You need a moisturizer that leaves the skin fresh, but not oily. Never over apply the moisturizer. You’re just adding a layer that will never be absorbed by the skin. Excess moisturizer leads to shinny skin, and potential build up of dirt and residue. A new shaving routine will take a few days to get used to. Persist with it. If you experience razor burn, use a post shave lotion, prior to moisturizing. You may be pressing too hard, or your blade needs changing, or not enough lubrication. Don't give up You may find this technique takes some time to reach its full effect. As your skin will soften over a few days, the full results may take several days to become apparent. Avoid the use of alcohol based fragrances and traditional after shaves, as these dry the skin, and will sting any abrasions. Use a facial milk or aftershave balm instead. Good Luck!! Wardrobe Tips for Challenging Body Types We all have our set of challenges when it comes to finding clothes we find flattering on ourselves, otherwise known as dressing for your body type. But if chosen well, the right clothes can hide the features we don’t like about ourselves and accentuate our best ones. Here I have outlined some (certainly not all) fashion rules to live by when dressing for body types that might be a bit challenging. Of course there are exceptions to rules, but keep these tips in mind when putting a wardrobe or an outfit together.
How’s the weather up there? Particularly tall guys should say away from vertical stripes including pinstripes since they tend to accentuate height. Horizontal stripes and windowpane plaids are more flattering patterns. If you are thin to boot, wearing fabrics that cling is a bad idea, but wearing baggy clothes also brings attention to your svelt physique. Being tall and thin myself I have always been challenged with looking for the perfect fit in shirts, trousers, sweaters and suits. I have found that wearing shirts that are slightly fitted with spread collars and trousers that are straight in the leg, not tapered in any way, work best. Also, sweaters with a closer fit to the body, but not fitted are more flattering. And since suits with three buttons tend to lengthen the body, stick with one and two buttons. Are you vertically challenged? Short guys should avoid cuffed trousers, long suit jackets, and loud patterns. You don’t want to bring attention to your smaller stature. Pinstripes and other stripes (but not too bold) and dark solid colors are your best bet since they visually lengthen the body. Also, two and three buttoned suits with long lapels will give you a flattering, longer silhouette. And remember, when buttoning your suit leave the top button on two and three button suits undone since this will give the illusion of being taller. When it comes to ties, avoid Windsor and double Windsor knots – in other words stick with small knots. This will help you avoid looking like a kid. Do you have junk in the trunk? Heavyset men shouldn’t wear bold patterns of any sort. Pinstripes and solid colors, especially dark ones, are your friends. Bulky fabrics such as tweeds should be avoided when it comes to suits, and softer wools such as gabardines and super 100’s should be embraced. Do wear suits with peaked lapels since they carry they eye upwards. Shirts with pointed collars are also more flattering. Some say that suspenders are better than belts, but I’ll let you decide.

A Man's Project I Support
As men, we have a long history of fighting for things. Having a belief and standing up for it. We have fought for land, religion, peace, equality and attention. As men — fathers, sons, brothers, partners and friends — we have a new cause to fight for — our health.Face it, we men don’t look after ourselves. Sadly, five of us die each hour from preventable conditions. That could be our fathers, our friends or sons. You may have already experienced the premature death of someone close to you through heart disease, depression or other preventable conditions. It is time for this to stop. The M5 Project is not about money. It is not about research. It is not even about a medical cure. It is about our minds. Changing our thinking to say “I believe in my health”. To get it through to our subconscious that it is OK to talk about health with our mates, and important to know and trust a local doctor to look out for us.Our relationships with our friends and family are just so valuable. We owe it to them to look after our health — and help others see how they can take just five preventative steps. The M5 Project is a movement. A diverse group of people, like you, focused on ensuring men live long and rich lives. All they need is a little bit of knowledge and direction from a mate who cares.Men can get involved in many ways in The M5 Project — maybe placing an M5 poster in a public space, directing someone to the web site, or chatting with a mate. Our goal is to decrease five preventable deaths an hour, to zero.We know it is a huge goal. Some may say it is impossible. The more people that get involved with The M5 Project, the more effective it will be. Please take five minutes to get involved and let’s get the momentum going.
